Rise & Fall of the Mongol Empire
It's crazy to think that the Mongol Empire was once the biggest empire in world history! The Mongol Empire went from nothing to covering Eurasia and the Middle East to the borders of India from 1206-1368. However, by the late 1300s, it had fractured into smaller Khanates and declined until it no longer posed any threat to the West. This video describes the geopolitical factors that allowed for this massive empire to come into being and then what led to its downfall. The Mongol Empire was founded by a man named Temujin, who would later be known as Genghis Khan. He was born in 1162 in Mongolia and spent his formative years being shunned by his tribe because of his illegitimacy. In 1206, he united the tribes that had been fighting one another and became the Great Khan of the Mongols, uniting them under a common banner. ________________________________________ SUBSCRIBE! ________________________________________ CHAPTERS 0:00 - INTRO 1:26 - THE RISE OF TEMUJIN 6:23 - ENEMIES OF THE MONGOLS 8:57 - CONQUERING CHINA 11:14 - THE DISINTEGRATION OF THE EMPIRE 14:07 - RISE AND FALL OF THE GOLDEN HORDE ________________________________________ Welcome to History Simplified, the most simple animated history channel on YouTube.
