Estimate, worst case. Each subscription is counted as its own payment and tips as $10 payments. On OD3ON all renewals are pooled on the 3rd: a fan who supports several creators pays the fixed fee once for all of them, so your real fees are often lower. Your actual amounts depend on your fans’ cards and countries.

The same work, paid better
| Platform | Freedom of expression | Unlimited free content | Active revenue | Commission on active revenue | Passive revenue | Real take-home |

| YouTube | 45% | 55% | ||||
| Patreon | 10% | 78–87% | ||||

Real take-home (estimate) = what reaches the creator after platform commission and card processing, based on public pricing checked in October 2026. Active revenue = money paid by fans (subscriptions, tips, memberships). Passive revenue = ads or revenue sharing; on OD3ON it is coming soon (affiliation and OD3ON Pass).
How these figures were checked (October 2026)
There is no demonetization and no ban for speech that freedom of expression protects, when it respects the platform rules. Active revenue is paid by a fan or an advertiser. Passive revenue is paid by the platform. The commission is the platform's own cut. The last column is what remains after the extra fees a creator actually pays, such as card processing.
YouTube. YouTube keeps 45% of long-form ad revenue. The creator keeps 55%, including the share of YouTube Premium. Shorts pay the creator 45% of their part of the ads pool. Memberships, Super Chat, Super Stickers and Super Thanks pay 70%, and YouTube currently covers the card fee on those.
Patreon. A new Patreon page is 10% of memberships and one-time payments, plus processing (about 2.9% + $0.30 on a US card) and a payout fee. On a typical payment that leaves about 78–87% before the payout fee. Pages published on or before 4 August 2025 can still be on an older 5%, 8% or 11% plan.
Rumble. On the Rumble player the creator keeps 60% of the profit, so the platform share is 40%. An exclusive management license can pay 90% of what the same video earns on YouTube. Rumble also runs a separate creator program on top of that share.
Locals. Locals takes 10% on subscriptions, tips and most one-time payments, and 20% on one-time Content+ sales, plus Stripe. With a US card at 2.9% + $0.30, the creator keeps about 81–87% on a subscription and about 71–77% on a Content+ sale.
OD3ON. The platform cut is 5% of the payment. Card fees come off as well. Bank fees vary a lot depending on the country and the currency of the transaction. Renewals are grouped on one day of the month, so the fixed part of that fee is shared when one fan supports several channels. Affiliation and the pass are not paid out yet.

Before you open your channel
Does it cost anything to open a channel?
No. Opening a channel and publishing is free, with no cap on your catalog. OD3ON only takes 5% of what your fans pay you (subscriptions and tips). Card processing is separate.
When do I get paid?
The earnings of a month become withdrawable from the 10th of the following month. All subscriptions renew on the 3rd, which pools bank fees for your fans and for you.
Can I go live and open chat rooms right away?
Lives and chat rooms are available to creators who have paying subscribers. You can then open up to 10 chat rooms per channel, each restricted to the tiers you choose.
Who sees my posts?
You decide for each post: public, followers (free), all subscribers, or only some tiers. You can also group posts into series and schedule them in advance.
Does OD3ON handle my taxes?
No. OD3ON is not a tax intermediary. Your dashboard gives you every amount, commission and bank fee line by line, so declaring your income is simple.
